How does it work?

Studies have shown superior results from the combination of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) with Hyaluronic acid (HA). In particular, we see a significant improvement in the the skin’s elasticity and hydration.
  • Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP):

    • PRP is derived from your own blood. The blood is drawn, processed to concentrate the platelets, and then injected or applied to the skin.
    • Platelets contain growth factors that promote healing, cell regeneration, and collagen production, leading to improved skin texture and reduced fine lines.
  • Hyaluronic Acid (HA):

    • HA is a natural substance found in the skin that retains moisture and keeps skin hydrated, plump, and youthful-looking.
    • In cellular matrix, HA is added to PRP to enhance hydration and plumpness, giving the skin a smoother, more refreshed appearance.
  • Combination of PRP and HA:

    • The combination of PRP and HA creates a synergistic effect where PRP stimulates collagen and skin regeneration, while HA provides immediate hydration and plumping.
    • The growth factors in PRP accelerate tissue healing, repair, and overall rejuvenation, while HA helps restore volume and moisture to the skin.
  • Microneedling or Injection:

    • cellular matrix can be delivered through microneedling, where tiny needles create microchannels in the skin, allowing both PRP and HA to penetrate deeply for optimal absorption.
    • Alternatively, injections can directly target specific areas like the face, neck, or hands, for targeted results in areas with fine lines, wrinkles, or loss of volume.

FAQs

What is Cellular Matrix?

The combination of Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) and Hyaluronic Acid (HA) as an actual cellular matrix for skin rejuvenation offers the following benefits:

• Enhanced collagen production, resulting in improved skin elasticity and firmness.

• Improved skin texture, tone, and reduction in fine lines and wrinkles.

• Increased skin hydration and moisture retention.

• Reduction in the appearance of scars and sun damage.

• Natural and safe treatment, as both PRP and HA are derived from the patient’s own body or biocompatible substances.

When PRP and HA are combined, they work synergistically to stimulate collagen synthesis, hydrate the skin, and promote cellular regeneration. This combination can lead to a more youthful, rejuvenated appearance.

The treatment starts by taking a sample of blood which is then spun and separated in a centrifuge. This is then injected back into the skin using a needle or a cannula (blunt needle). We also microneedle cellular matrix back into the skin or use it post morpheus 8. There is little, if any, downtime after this procedure, although you may experience some redness, swelling or bruising at the injection site for a few days post treatment

The downtime following a treatment with RegenPRP or Cellular matrix for skin rejuvenation is typically minimal. However, it can vary depending on individual factors and the specific techniques used during the procedure.

Generally, patients may experience some mild redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection sites immediately after the treatment. These effects are usually temporary and subside within a few hours to a few days.

Most individuals can resume their normal daily activities immediately after the procedure. However, it is recommended to avoid exposure to direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and strenuous exercise for at least 24 to 48 hours following the treatment to allow the skin to heal and minimize the risk of complications.

It is recommended that for the best results, you commit to 3 RegenLab treatments, 30 days apart and plan for a maintenance treatment every 6-9 months thereafter.

If used in combination with microneedling or morpheus 8 the number of treatments will depend on the treatment plan we have recommended.

Improvement of skin texture and tone are generally noticeable within 3 weeks but full collagen regeneration can take up to 3 months. It is recommended to have a series of sessions to obtain optimum results. The results of PRP are not permanent, as natural degradation will occur over time. Improvements can last up to a year

Pre care – To decrease your reactivity post procedure we would advise stopping your retinol 7 days before hand, not to drink alcohol 24 hours beforehand and, if possible, not to take tablets that increase your risk of bruising such as anti-inflammatories, omega fish oils, aspirin etc

Post care – depending on your reaction to the procedure we may advise a skin care routine without actives or retinol for a few days, and you may use arnica if you have brusining. Avoid exercise and heat to the face.

Contraindications for cellular matrix procedure can include but are not limited to:

  1. Active Infections:

    • Skin infections (e.g., bacterial, viral, fungal infections) or active herpes simplex outbreaks (cold sores) should be avoided as they can worsen the infection or complicate healing after treatment.
  2. Autoimmune Disorders:

    • People with autoimmune diseases (e.g., lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma) should generally avoid Cellular Matrix treatments. Autoimmune conditions can affect healing and cause unpredictable reactions to the treatment.
  3. Pregnancy and Breastfeeding:

    • Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid Cellular Matrix therapy due to a lack of research on its safety during pregnancy and lactation.
  4. Active Cancer or Cancer Treatment:

    • Individuals with active cancer or those undergoing chemotherapy/radiation may be at higher risk of complications, as the body’s ability to heal and respond to treatment could be impaired. Cellular Matrix may also inadvertently promote cell growth, which could be a concern in cancer patients.
  5. Blood Disorders:

    • People with blood clotting disorders (e.g., hemophilia, thrombocytopenia) or those on blood thinners (e.g., warfarin, aspirin) may face risks of bleeding or bruising during or after treatment. This can interfere with healing and cause complications.
  6. Severe Skin Conditions:

    • Active skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, or dermatitis should be avoided, as these conditions could worsen with the application of cellular matrix products.
    • Open wounds, cuts, or burns should not be treated until fully healed, as this could lead to irritation or infection.
  7. Keloid Scarring:

    • Individuals with a history of keloid scarring or excessive scar formation should avoid this treatment, as cellular matrix stimulation may encourage overproduction of collagen, leading to potential keloid formation.
  8. Allergy to Components:

    • Some people may have allergies to the collagen or other components of the cellular matrix product. It’s essential to perform an allergy test before the procedure to prevent allergic reactions.
  9. Severe Allergies or Sensitivities:

    • Severe hypersensitivity to skin care ingredients or any of the components in the product (like hyaluronic acid, collagen, or growth factors) may indicate that Cellular Matrix is not appropriate.
  10. Immunocompromised Individuals:

  • People with a compromised immune system (e.g., HIV, immunosuppressive therapy) should avoid Cellular Matrix therapy, as the treatment may not heal properly or could lead to complications.
  1. Uncontrolled Medical Conditions:
  • Uncontrolled diabetes, high blood pressure, or chronic conditions that affect skin healing or circulation may prevent optimal results or cause complications.
